The Animal School
This reading definitely had me thinking in a whole new way about school. I never thought about it in this way and I agree with what the animals were portraying actually happens. People are really strong in one thing doesn't mean they will be strong in something else. And the people that are good at everything do become valedictorian. I feel college is much different in this category because you come to college to get a degree in something you like to do because you are good at it. Though some general education classes may be difficult as you get into your major it becomes better for you.
College Education and Technology
This was very interesting to read because the way people in the future will look back at us is the same way we right now look at the past. Your hear older people talk about black and white TVs and you just laugh. Also cell phones, people in the past had these huge cell phones and now they are so much smaller. All these advances in technology are getting better and better and soon people are going to laughing at us for using DVD players or even Blue ray. We'll be older and we'll be telling our kids of the iPhone and they will just laugh because they will not understand how we grew up without the technology they will have when their growing up.
Honest College Ad
This video was very humorous. Though this ad was something you would never see about a college a lot of it is true. As an OWL I am always giving tours to incoming freshman or seniors in high school thinking of applying to college. And as an OWL I am told to make the school look great and tell them all about the great activities on campus. But I am told not to tell them anything about the party life, or how a lot of freshmen do go home on the weekends. I feel that people should be more truthful when it comes to college because if they come here they will be more prepared for the things that the school didn't tell them and they have to find out on their own, for example how Sunday night at the commons it has a terrible dinner selection. Though this ad was a bit extreme colleges should be more truthful to their students they are paying a lot of money to go to a school that they may think is one thing but it turns out to be something completely different that they do not like.
